ONE of the biggest problems faced by families today is overwhelming debt and eviction from their homes, as well as being unable to afford the essentials required to lead a healthy life, food, heating etc, the minimum debt being up to £20,000. This year over 75,000 homes will be repossessed. Financial problems are also the cause of relationship breakdowns and sickness due to stress.
Approximately ten years ago a new national charity was set up to provide people with the necessary knowledge to get out of debt through debt counselling and education on money management planning. This charity is known as Christians Against Poverty. This charity shows and teaches people how to handle and budget money wisely and repay their debts whilst being able to comfortably live each day without stress and financial harassment from their Creditors. Also it is possible that within a 12 month period of being debt free they have financial freedom and are able through that education to assist others.
This charity won Charity of the Year awards in 2003/5 and 2007 and in 2008 was awarded the best small company to work for in the UK by The Sunday Times newspaper! In 2008 a National Free Debt Advice Line was set up by Christians Against Poverty and over 6,250 families were debt free through their counselling and assistance. This charity now manages Debt Management Counselling and can be contacted on the internet via www.capuk.org or by telephoning 01274 760780 or a freephone no 0800 328 0006. There are over 92 branches in the UK that you can contact. Information can be obtained via their website or phone contact number.
Years ago I was heavily in debt and met a man who worked for Christians Against Poverty who basically became a lifeline to me and helped me overcome and become debt free. I very highly recommend this charity.
