I READ a while back about the idea for Southampton's own bank notes.
Looking at the suggested designs made me think of how most were of footballers.
I admit that the No.1 thing you would think about Southampton was the football team…… but I draw your attention to the real heroes from Southampton.
Why do we not celebrate such people such as RJ Mitchell more and have him on a bank note? I think he definitely did a lot for the city and even the world.
So I ask why do we not have such people, who are potentially heroes in the world and the city, as the basis for our own bank notes?
I do realise how the football team is recognisable but why can't we have real people, real heroes on our bank notes and not such gimmicky things such as footballers and the like?
