DURING Deaf Awareness Week (May 4-10), RNID is asking us all to look after our hearing health and take the charity’s specially developed hearing check.

People can take up to 15 years to acknowledge their hearing loss. RNID’s message is simple, if you have hearing difficulties, dial 0844 800 3838 or visit www.rnid.org.uk/hearingmatters to check your hearing now so you can start taking steps to return to a fulfilling and active life.

RNID is The Co-operative charity of the year 2009 and as part of this partnership The Co-operative is supporting RNID’s campaign to check the hearing of one million people. During Deaf Awareness Week the Co-operative Food stores throughout the country will be fundraising and raising awareness about RNID’s hearing checks.

RNID also wants to hear about the impact that deafness or hearing loss has on people’s everyday lives. Whatever your experiences, good or bad, please email your story, in confidence, to mediarelations@rnid.org.uk.
