ON behalf of The Children’s Trust, the official charity of this year’s Flora London Marathon, I would like to say a very special thank you to all the runners, including celebrities and the Yellow Submarine Team, who took part in the marathon on 26th April in support of the Trust.
Over 650 runners joined our team and have helped to raise what we hope will be over a £1 million, making it the most successful event we have ever undertaken. Each year, over 5,000 children in the UK suffer an acquired brain injury but most do not have access to the specialist help available at The Children’s Trust. The money raised will enable the Trust to help many more children and families by developing services in the community, allowing more children to benefit from the skills and experience we have developed over many years.
This will make 2009 a memorable year for The Children’s Trust, which is also celebrating its 25th anniversary.
We would like to congratulate all our runners on their fantastic achievement and thank them again for making a difference to the lives of some very special children.
Finally, we would like to thank London Marathon for choosing The Children’s Trust as the official charity of the Flora London Marathon 2009.
