Re: Soapbox in Tuesday May 5th edition of Daily Echo.
I PERSONALLY have never seen the charm of flying out to Africa to rough it for two or more weeks on safari to see, or not see, wild animals 'in the wild' with a chance of being attacked by lions, snakes, elephants, insects, etc.
Zoos are primarily for children to see various animals that they may not see in later life. It is also not a good idea to add to the world's pollution by flying out to visit various wildlife parks. Maybe Ms Sheila Clayton would rather cats and dogs were not kept as pets as these were once wild.
