LETTERS correspondent A Gabriel of Hythe proves himself to be no angel in his anti-EU rant (In My View November 8).
He accuses me of being arrogant. I have never met him so it must simply be because I hold different views from him.
His claim that all three main political parties share my more positive EU views because they are all funded by the EU is something even the right wing press haven’t yet made up.
He seems completely unaware or in denial about the £16m investment coming into the New Forest area to support the very important practice of Commoning and restoring habitats.
Hopefully, our wild green places will be better protected as a result of EU money, in the same way that a lot of our beaches have been cleaned up.
I won’t trade statistics about the cost of our membership. All I can say is what price would you put on peace in Europe, all of the jobs we get from trading within the EU, working as one to protect ourselves against threats such as terrorism, pollution and international crime.
One tends to hear all the negatives, some people only want to hear negatives. There is another side to the coin, whether it be a euro or a pound sterling!
