IT does appear rather ironic that the Government is to change the tax rules to obtain tax of £140m (which could be nothing if the companies using this tax break pull out from the Channel Islands) and thereby deprive the man in the street of a little perk, but is quite willing to give a tax break of some £8-10 billion to Vodafone and Goldman Sachs, without making any attempt to right the obvious error and regain that tax from the said companies. Why?
