I WONDER what Mr Royston Smith, our glorious council leader, thinks about the Daily Echo report of November 9, reference Southampton being fourth from bottom of Hampshire’s recycling table.
It’s no wonder really because since late May we’ve had sporadic refuse collections and in the road where I live (the road the council forgot) our recycling bins have not been emptied for the past 11 weeks, yes, 11 weeks!
When you phone the council after listening to their automated system and finally speak to an employee, we are told collections are all back to normal sir.
I wonder if Mr Smith is prepared to award all residents a council tax rebate for his inefficient services this last six months, and not to say “I’m not increasing your council tax this year”, which am I right in saying the Government not Mr Smith decided not to increase last April?
I personally am not going to bother to recycle the way we have for the past few years until we get the collections sorted out.
Can Mr Smith and his hundreds of colleagues identify the road the council forgot?
