AFTER months of industrial action have ceased, waste collection in the city is still not back to anywhere near the standard that we have been promised.
Green waste is still not being collected, and recyclable waste in my area has not been collected for at least five weeks. In fact, I called the council actionline this week with concern over the latter, as in my street we have had two arson attacks in one evening which resulted in severe fire damage to a porch, and a police investigation.
The answer was that contractors had missed my house!
This and the recyclable waste of most of the houses in my street has still not been removed three days later. Would the city council like to respond, as my requests have so far fallen upon deaf ears?
STUART CLARK, Shirley, Southampton.
