THE High Court has told the Isle of Wight council that it has broken the law by withdrawing funding from two severely disabled men.
The reason is that the Government has cut the central government grant to local government. This grant supports most local spending. By cutting this grant the Government has forced local councils to save money by slashing provision.
The south is wealthy and can well afford to pay what vulnerable people need, but central Government will not allow it. The Liberal Conservative coalition could find money to fight a war to depose Colonel Gaddaffi for the benefit of French and Italian oil companies, but it cannot find money for its own people.
The south of the country needs autonomy to make decisions about how we use our taxes.
ROBERT CRAIG, All The South Party.
