ON Tuesday, November 15, I was overwhelmed by the kindness of a lady when I was in a real predicament.
I had been to the Aldermoor Podiatry Clinic and at about 11am went into the One Stop shop.
Queuing to pay, I looked for my purse but couldn’t find it. I left the bag full with the assistant and went to my car to look there but no luck.
I am 80 and very disabled, and by now I was exhausted. A middleaged lady came along and helped me down the slope. I just couldn’t go home for more money and come back out again.
This very kind and generous lady asked “how much?” and pressed a £5 note into my hand! She wouldn’t give me her address, merely saying “send it to a charity”. So if you read this, dear friend, it’s going off to Oxfam’s appeal for the East African famine. I can never thank you enough for your help. (My purse was at home).
