I AM writing to express my concerns about the German market in the precinct in Southampton.
While shopping there last Saturday with my elderly mother we were unlucky enough to find ourselves in a horrible position where so much walking area has been taken over by the market and with the increased footfall of Christmas shoppers we actually ended up in a crush outside WestQuay and we were unable to move.
This was a very frightening experience for my mother who actually found herself lifted off the ground while I myself was unbalanced and at risk of falling.
I wonder who actually conducts the Health and Safety assessment of the market, and I hope that nobody is seriously injured in the run-up to Christmas as trade increases.
