WHILE searching through a cupboard at home I discovered a copy of the Daily Echo from November 2007. The front page headline read: “I’m off says Blair”.

Too right he was off ! Having secured the maximum pension after serving ten years as PM and also being very aware that the economy, and the (so called) New Labour Project was heading for the rocks, he bailed-out when the going was still good.

Tony Blair has been described as being “more slippery than a greased piglet”

and as “Teflon Tone”(nothing sticks to him).

Mr Blair, if he had served a full third term as PM, probably would have won the 2010 General Election and Labour would have had to deal with the mess they created and face a “final reckoning”

having to endure the humiliation of going cap in hand to the IMF to bail out the economy. Mr Blair cared more about his legacy than to be tarred with that brush! New Labour has left us and future generations up to our necks in it.

Having said that, New Labour has done a lot for this country – we just haven’t paid for it yet! Ever felt that you’ve been conned?
