I AM writing to voice my concern about the market in Winchester.
What may have seemed like a good idea at the time to place it in the High Street quite frankly has proved to be a disaster for the city and shoppers alike.
One only has to look at the experience of a recent weekends. Indeed, the lower part of the High Street is literally clogged with shoppers.
What is the answer. Either move it from the Buttercross upwards or better still get it out of the High Street altogether.
Judging by some of the half baked decisions of this current council I include going ahead with the Silver Hill development as one of them.
I would not like to guess where they will end up putting it.
Probably somewhere totally inappropriate.
ADRIAN HICKS, Winchester.
