I WORK at the council. I did not go on strike. I don’t know what the answer to the council’s financial problem is but I don’t support other councils who have been sacking people.
What planet are these people on? I want a job, not the sack. Before people start I’m not a pen-pusher. I’ve worked for my city for 22 years and I work in what’s called the front line. How can I do my job if I stay and my co workers go? Some people have said that the council can raise taxes but I know I can’t afford extra council tax.
I know it’s all hard and I’m not a genius but I know that sacking hundreds of people is far too much.
I bet I’m not the only one.
MISS M TARGENT, Sholing, Southampton.
