AT THE junction of Park Street and Shirley High Street there are vehicle and pedestrian traffic lights. Why then, when the traffic has the right of way, do pedestrians still think it OK to cross Park Street when the pedestrian lights are red?
Recently when I legitimately turned right into Park Street, a young family foolishly decided to cross the road in front of me. Not only did they put themselves in jeopardy but also their baby being pushed in front of them.
To compound their folly, after I sounded a warning, the woman gave a V sign and continued crossing the road. It beggars belief that children are being raised with this sort of attitude and it is no wonder they have no road sense or manners if this is how the parent behaves.
One day someone is going to be seriously injured because of pedestrian stupidity and guess who will be blamed.
