WHY are Britain and the US continuing to pour millions (and hundreds of lives) into the Afghan war?
Did a report from Reuters’ African correspondent come up with the answer? “Afghanistan’s government has pinned its hopes of rebuilding the country’s economy, and of earning the money it needs for the army and police, on attracting investment in copper and iron ore resources, which it reckons could be worth up to $3 trillion.”
No, we wouldn’t be after a share of that, would we? Much as Tony Blair told us we weren’t after a nice share of Iraq’s oil?
