SINCE becoming Prime Minister David Cameron has repeatedly demonstrated his support for his rich party donors against the interests of the ordinary masses of the electorate, so his veto of the latest attempt at a new EU treaty, in order to protect the interests of the bankers of the City of London, would appear to be merely a progression of his usual instincts.
I do, however, believe that on this occasion we should be looking carefully at what is behind the reasoning of Sarkozy and Merkel in not giving ground to David Cameron in this matter, when the new treaty is apparently so important to the wellbeing of the union. There can be one reason, and one reason only, that both Germany and France have plans to steal the trade from the City of London, thereby taking even more of our hard-earned revenue than they already do.
Surely it is time that our politicians woke up to what is going on in the EU and give us the referendum that a clear majority of the electorate want.
Of course this may all be a bit academic as Cameron may soon find himself in a position where even he may have to give the majority what they need. Of course if this happens it will probably be too late as those who operate for their own selfish interests will do so for as long as they can get away with it.
